The cable car will connect Sarısu to Tünektepe in Konyaaltı, Antalya

The new governor of Antalya Dr. Ahmet Altıparmak and other members of Antalya Municipality was present at the foundation ceremony for the Tünektepe Cable Car Project. The project which has been waited to be constructed for over 30 years will finally come to life. Governor Altınparmak said, ‘' We are making a dream come true for this wonderful city. This was a famous problem of the city but there was no project or any news about it. We created the project and now we are making it real.''

Opening ceremony of the cable car in Antalya

In the ceremony, The Secretary of the Special Provincial Administration, Faruk Karaçay said that the project is expected to be completed in 1 year and it will cost around 13 million TL. The project will pay itself off in 5 years' time. Mr. Karaçay gave more detailed information of the project saying, ‘' The cable car system will serve up to 1200 people per hour. The horizontal length will be 1.685 meters, the height difference between the ground and top will be 604 meters. The journey will take between 6-10 minutes. The cabins will be for a maximum of 8 people. In the new complex, there will be a natural terrace, cafeteria, panorama terraces, relaxation areas, children's playground, and stands where the local products can be sold.''
